Duplicate Prevention

Point of capture duplicate prevention & data formatting

The accurate capture of names and addresses is a time consuming, mistake filled process that leads to duplicate records eroding the quality and accuracy of your data. The findIT Duplicate Prevention Toolkit can eliminate duplicate contact entries at the point of entry by performing a fuzzy matching lookup as the record is keyed to check whether the record already exists.

Powered by the matchIT API, findIT intelligently splits and standardizes the customer record to improve structure and simplify loading to the database.

Further improving data entry is an API available for the findIT toolkit to incorporate rapid addressing. This technology is designed to greatly reduce the number of keystrokes required to complete an address (typically requiring fewer than 15 keystrokes) and validate the address against the U.S. Postal Service® (USPS®) data file.

If the user first enters the ZIP code and name for the new record, findIT can perform a fuzzy matching lookup to check whether the record already exists.

In this case, findIT suggests that Bill Dayton could be the same person as W.R. Dayton, who is already on the database, with the same ZIP code. Using its proprietary phonetic algorithm soundIT, findIT knows that Dayton sounds like Deyton. Also, through its user-defined lookup tables, it knows that Bill is a short form of William. Alternatively, the user may want to consider William Deighton at a slightly different ZIP code as a possible match.
