The key to dealing successfully with customers on the phone is the speed and efficiency with which you handle the calls. Yet, keying errors and inconsistencies can make it difficult just to find the customer's record. Phonetic variations and keying errors lead to "I'm sorry, how do you spell that?" or "Do you know your account number?" At best, problems like this cause delay, so the call is off to a bad start. At worst, you add the record again, possibly even fulfilling an order twice.
matchIT API for data enquiry
matchIT API can be plugged in at each workstation, enabling users to retrieve a record by any combination of name, company, postcode street and town/city. This search will identify any records that match the enquiry, even if they are misspelt, miskeyed or simply entered differently this time round. If there are several matching records, matchIT API enables you to see the best matches first. Just as importantly, it ensures that you do not have to view records which are obviously not matches.
Using the same phonetic and other techniques as for duplicate prevention, matchIT API has determined that Tony Shaw could be Mr A Shore and that OSL could be an acronym for Ocean Surveys Ltd. matchIT API finds the record if it exists on your database, without showing records that are obviously different.
