Accurate Address Validation and Zip+4 Append
Accurate addresses are an integral component of effective Customer Data Management and Marketing. The addressIT module of the matchIT suite corrects and standardizes addresses in line with USPS regulation, appends Zip+4 codes, ensures address validation for each individual delivery point (DPV), and provides real time NCOA processing – the ability to find new addresses for those who have moved.
A standardized address simply corrected for mistakes and omissions is not necessarily deliverable. According to USPS statistics, 24% of the nearly 200 Billion pieces of mail the Postal Service handles each year have address inaccuracies. The addressIT module can determine whether a particular address is known to the USPS as a valid point for mail delivery, giving you the confidence your data is accurate – not just "standardized".
The engine of the addressIT module is fully certified by the United States Postal Service® to:
- Correct misspellings, directionals (N, SE, etc.) and designators (ST, BLVD, etc.)
- Update 5 digit ZIP® codes and add the ZIP + 4® code and carrier routes
- Assign Delivery Point and Line-of-Travel (LOT) for greater postal discounts
- Add additional meta data (i.e. congressional district and county code)
- Correct multiple lines of address information
- Identify and analyze un-coded addresses, so previously undeliverable addresses can be corrected and included with the rest of your mailings.
